Everything you said is completely understandable. I mean, $450 for a new console and then on top of that, $80-$90 for the games, presumably $40-$50 for the upgrade packs, and somewhere in the range of $60, $70, or even $80 for the Pro Controller?! These prices feel like extortion.
The Switch 2 isn't all bad though. I mean, the new Mario Kart and Donkey Kong look promising, and the console has a decent chance of doing well if they roll back the price like $75. It's just that my fear about this console is that everyone's just gonna look at it as a more expensive Switch, and if the sales dip, like you said, they'll just give up in year three like the Wii U and let their "publishing partners" do their job for them like the Dreamcast. (Really good job supporting your points by citing trends in other consoles)
As for me, I don't have a Steam Deck, so fingers are still crossed that this console does well, and even if or when I do end up getting one, whether or not they reprice it by then, I'm gonna take it one step at a time. Regardless, you got two months, Nintendo. Get it together.
