Nintendo Switch 2 First Impression

Posted by Lynkronized - 2 weeks ago

What's up everyone, so... as of this month, this is not really a good start of the year as expected to be at first, but aside from that, let's finally talk about Nintendo's brand new Switch 2 and it's first impressions!

Wow, i can't believe it's real, the Switch 2 is real, like... it's like Nintendo meets Playstation 2, well it's more like an upgrade of an original switch since the joy-cons attatches magneticly instead of sliding it in, plus you can now drag it as a mouse cuz i did heard rumors the joy-cons are gonna have sensors built-in, while it's new and improved the joy-cons NEED to have Hall-Effect patched cuz i don't want to suffer another drift like my old Switch, i want to keep it drift-free, also the stand is new and overhauled, pretty much flexable as the OLED models n' all, an extra usb port is pretty neat, and it's backwards compatible! So yeah, it's definitely a PS2 of the Switch 2. :D

If i'm gonna get the Switch 2, i'm gonna expect the new home ui screen inspired from the 3DS and Wii U as well as the eShop, let's bring THAT magic back rather than the bland simplistic blocky thumbnails everywhere, give us something customizable n' colorful, and it NEEDS to have an anticipated exclusive nintendo game titles at launch such as Metroid Prime 4 and Pokémon Legends Z-A, or remaster other games we love, i dunno, i don't want the Switch 2 to suffer it's launch like with the Wii U and 3DS, ease us something new and exciting by first impressions that makes me wanna buy this thing, let's not make it a weak start.

There's also an NS2 Experience Tour around my area that i'll be looking forward to, maybe after the launch of the Switch 2, i dunno... Anyways, hope y'all satisfied with a brand new Nintendo console, and also Happy 5th Anniversary of The Owl House!

Bring back virtual console and scrap the switch online plus

@Blackan Exactly! I know we don't exactly "own" our digital games, but being able to buy the ones I want separately, and ONLY the ones I want, and have the privilege to have it sitting in my consoles memory until I can actually make time to fully play and immerse myself in these retro classes is vastly superior to a subscription service. The subscription model only really seems to work with TV shows and movies anyway, the kind of entertainment you can quickly binge over the weekend before quickly moving onto new stuff the next weekend. Stuff like NSO and Xbox Game Pass just doesn't work for games that last 5-100+ hours, even if you rush and know what you're doing in the game.

I have a Steam Deck and frankly love how it gives me the freedom of PC gaming (and even PC software like Blender with a little jiggery-pokery!) in a handheld form. Honestly, the only thing that will determine whether I get a Switch 2 is if it gets a stellar first party line-up--stuff like 3D Mario, a proper new Zelda, anything that will never get a PC port for obvious reasons--to make up for the fact that I can just play every non-Nintendo game I want on my Steam Deck instead.

The only way I would buy the switch 2 is if my existing library received a big performance boost out of the box. Most of the games I own get fewer than 30 frames, which is honestly unacceptable in 2025. I want 1080p 60fps across the board, bare minimum.

The design changes they've made are questionable. Joycons attach with magnets? Is this thing gonna disassemble itself if I hold it too firmly? Native Bluetooth audio and NO MORE INPUT/AUDIO LATENCY HOLY COW. I feel like even with joy cons there is a full half second of input delay

Even then, I honestly struggle to find a reason to buy a new switch. I rarely play the one I own now, I just play games on my laptop. Not sure I could justify spending the 400 bucks, even if Nintendo released a bunch of neat exclusive titles alongside it.
